You can no longer buy Lightroom outright

We often get asked which is better, Buying Lightroom or subscribing. So here’s our thoughts on the matter. Buy Lightroom if you know you are going to be happy using it for several years with out needing an update to it, an update that may encompass that lovely new camera you’ve just bought or a feature that all your friends are raving about (see Dehaze, Profiles and Texture as 3 recent examples). Buying it outright cost a little more than a years subscription, so yes you’ll save money if you’re going stick with it for several years. But did you know that in your subscription you also get full Photoshop, not Photoshop Elements, included in the price. Photoshop used to cost approx. £600, now you get it for less than £10 a month, that’s 5 years worth of subscriptions right there. You also get a free website and cloud storage.
