Introduction to Creative Photography - April 2021

We will look at the main areas of interest to most photographers, Landscapes, Portraits and Still Life. All of the technical aspects of photography are relevant in one form or another to each of these subjects so you will be shown how the different settings will best help you achieve what you are looking for. I strongly believe that we learn as much, if not more, from our mistakes as we do from our successes so I will be expecting people to share their successes and failures during the term.

You will be encouraged to find photographers or styles of photography that you like and try to emulate them, this is how I started to learn photography and eventually found my own style.

As the evenings draw in we will arrange a couple of mornings/afternoons out at the weekend to shoot on location, either at local parks and gardens with at least one trip to the coast and/or a night time shoot in London (travel restrictions permitting).

As my background is in Film Photography I don’t consider an image finished until you are holding it in your hand so I will spend time discussing why we need to print more of our images. As a student on this course I offer discounted printing, you will receive more details during the course.
